Assuming your scenario was a given, and that all of this operated inside an ideal system, it still would not be acceptable to go back, and oppose a sentence on someone before a crime was committed, even though the "future" says that it will happen. Then, there is always the slight possibility of a future altering event happening while you are transporting back, or while you are there(past). You would assasinate a man, who decided not to go ahead with his actions, but you won't know this.
Lastly, who are you to say what he did was wrong or right? Or that historians are accurate in the portrayal of the "Story" of what really happened? So no, stay home, play pacman, sleep well at night.
